Biobeat Featured in Vaskulär Medicin: A New Approach to Ambulatory Hemodynamic Monitoring

Biobeat’s wearable, non-invasive monitoring technology was recently featured in Vaskulär Medicin (Issue 4, 2024) as part of a pilot study conducted at Skåne University Hospital in Malmö, Sweden. The study explored the use of Biobeat’s chest-worn PPG sensor (BB-613WP) for 24-hour ambulatory monitoring in patients with type 1 diabetes.

The device enables continuous, cuffless measurement of blood pressure, cardiac output, vascular resistance, and other key parameters. Unlike traditional ABPM systems, Biobeat offers enhanced patient comfort, especially during sleep, while collecting up to 96 measurements per day and transmitting real-time data via Bluetooth to a mobile app.

Researchers noted that the system was easy to use, well tolerated, and provided reliable data. The study highlights Biobeat’s potential for both clinical use and advanced research in vascular medicine.
